LIME HOLLOW CENTER
FOR ENVIRONMENT & CULTURE

Lime Hollow News

Lime Hollow Center for the Environment has been working on its new Visitor Center, set to open May 26. The project is a great new facility that will expand Lime Hollow's acclaimed environmental and educational programming. Just as exciting, it is a unique handcrafted log structure that is also a showcase for "green" construction techniques. From geothermal heating to composting rest rooms, the two-year project has integrated environmentally friendly features into every aspect of construction. The new visitors center will advance Lime Hollow's mission related to environmental education, regional tourism, economic development and quality of life.

The new center has been a labor of love for Lime Hollow's dedicated volunteers. As facilities near completion, you can help with a capital campaign donation to reach the final goal... only $28,000 to go! Your contribution will help with: John Weeks, one of CNY's premier naturalists and artists, complete the Bush Memorial Bird Room; modular interpretive exhibits being developed with the help of the Tompkins/Cortland Builders and Remodelers Association; design and construction of a rustic, log stairway to an interior loft; nature-scaping the exterior; and construction of a bird sanctuary.
