Lime Hollow News
August 14-18, “Creating a Stone and Masonry Sculpture on Lime Hollows Art Trail”
9 am - 5 pm, Lime Hollow Center, Gracie Road. We are looking for 6-8 high school students or young adults who live in Cortland County. The completed project will be a functional sculpture constructed of stone and cement with a molded seating area where 4-6 people can sit and interact. The shape, size, form and placement will be determined by a collaboration of design between instructor Tony Ferro from “Frog Pond Farm Art Gallery” and students. The students will learn the lost art of primitive stone masonry, sculpting with cement, and fresco.
There is no fee for this project. Because of the limited number of students needed, you must be willing to participate for all 5 days. There will be some physical labor involved, however all applicants will be considered regardless of physical ability. The project will take place outside. You must provide your own transportation and be punctual. For more information about this project please call Tony Ferro at (607) 749-6041 or email Tferro2000@yahoo.com.
Project made possible with funding from the New York State Council on the Arts, Decentralization Grant Program, administered regionally by the Cultural Resources Council of Syracuse and Onondaga County.
